About Us

Food Works is an accelerator programme for high potential, ambitious food and drink start-ups. Our mission is to support the growth and development of the next generation of scalable, export driven Irish food and drink businesses.

The Food Works programme is a collaborative initiative run by three state agencies. The programme is designed to feed ambition and drive innovation in the Irish food and drink sector.

Bord Bia, Enterprise Ireland and Teagasc have been supporting the rapid scaling and growth of innovative Irish food and drink start-ups through Food Works since 2012. Food Works combines the resources and expertise of each agency. This unique opportunity provides Irish food and drink start-ups with the comprehensive support they need to grow their business.

  • Bord Bia

    Bord Bia works to ensure the superb quality of Irish food and drink is recognised on a global stage. On Food Works, Bord Bia provides strategic insight and support that drives understanding of consumers, competitors, trends, opportunities and both domestic and international markets.

  • Enterprise Ireland

    Enterprise Ireland works with entrepreneurs to start and grow their business internationally. It recognises start-ups as powerful drivers of economic growth, new talent and innovation. Enterprise Ireland provides invaluable support to Food High Potential Start-Ups (HPSUs) through the Food Works programme. HPSUs are fast growing and export focused from the outset. These businesses have the potential to create 10 jobs and €1 million in sales within three to four years of starting up.

  • Teagasc

    Teagasc provides integrated research, advisory and training services to the food industry. Its state of the art food research and development centres in Ashtown and Moorepark provide access to industry leading facilities, equipment and expertise for food and drink companies.
